Green Day vs. iPod

I am currently waiting anxiously for the next Green Day album entitled 21st Century Breakdown. Most of you are well aware of my slight obsession with the Punk Rock band Green Day. And as I sit here listening to them, I write about them in my blog. Their new album, is due out in May. I am saving up some cash to go see them live whenever they come to Phoenix. I have seen them once in my life. In Phoenix, about a year ago, when they came here as their alter ego, The Foxboro Hot Tubs. That was by far the most fun I've ever had.
Ready for my dilemma? I have some money owed to me that equals around $120. That should be just enough for a couple tickets for me and a friend or two. My problem is that my iPod is broken and I would like to purchase a new one, but the one I am looking at isn't gonna go for less than $250. That's more than I have. So I sit and contemplate which is more important, seeing my favorite band live for real this time and having the time of my life for one night only, or buy a freaking sweet iPod touch that will last me a few years or longer. You would think I would go with the iPod but I am honestly considering going with Green Day. Any suggestions?

My Day

Tiring day. I really just want to go to sleep. I am looking for an excuse to do so but I am online right now. Have you ever had those days where you just take a breath and go, wow, I'm tired. That's today for me. I think I'm gonna chill.

My Favorite Bands

Right now, I have been listening to a lot of different music trying to gain some inspiration for a new song. In the past, I have limited myself to so few bands that it is difficult to gain a decent perspective on songwriting. Recently I have decided to try and take a break from my usual iPod rotation of Green Day, My Chemical Romance, The Ramones, Nirvana, etc. I have been trying some other stuff that I knew I liked but some of this stuff is really growing on me. I've been trying classic Punk Rock Heroes like The Offspring, NOFX, Bad Religion, The Clash, Anti-Flag, and the likes. Also some harder stuff like Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Blink 182, Rise Against and stuff like that. I am really starting to like this new stuff. I'm telling you guys I am close to writing a new song. An idea is firmenting but it's just not there yet.
So, it's officical that me and Jett are in fact starting a band. It's been a talk no walk for the past weeks but we decided to just do it. Some possible names are The Curse, Blood Death Roses, Sentiment, The Freaks, Blood, Long Lost Enemy, The Departed, or The Village Idiots. I'll keep you updated on that. Keep coming back and reading this. Once again, tell people about it and get me some more followers.
Thanks,
Dylan

My Birthday

It was an awesome day. I'm so glad I got to spend most of it with my family. Hopefully you all comment on here and enjoy the posts. I am glad you guys are enjoying both blogs. Please recommend this blog to any of your friends or whatever. Same goes with The Corpse Party. Hopefully you guys are enjoying that one. I put a poll up asking which blog you liked better. I will still update both. Vote and leave comments.

I woke up today and went to school. It was an alright day. Some of my "friends" were being a bit.....jerky. I think I did really well on my Social Studies test. Yeah, then I came home. (yes!!!)
I got a bunch of calls and e-mails and Myspace messages from friends and family wishing me a Happy Birthday. It was. Guys please go read my Mom's family blog. She spent waaaaaaay more time then me. I loved what she wrote.

Alright guys peace out and comment,
Dylan

Update on Life

Well, I think it's about time I got a little bit more into updating you guys about my life right now. Today is my birthday. I'm having a really good day so far. I am basically living my life. On Sunday, I had my interview to become a teacher with Bishop Kempton. It went pretty well. I'm not sure of the date of the ordination. I just know it will be soon. I really am going to miss my deacon's quorum. I was their first counselor for a while. I enjoyed being a part of them.
I've been writing a lot of songs recently. I just wrote one today called "Give Me a Punk Rock Revolution". I've written some other songs too. I have a lot to talk about as I continue to realize the social problems this nation is having. I have a political blog called "The Corpse Party" and I am going to update that next. I have a lot of opinions on the Obama administration so far. I won't get into that here though.
I am a part of a couple bands right now. There's an alternative/punk rock band I have been asked to do vocals and guitar for by my friend Tylor. He was originally the vocalist but decided that he can't sing and play guitar at the same time. I accepted although right now, my Epi's power chord is busted so I am waiting to fix that. And then of course, there is the band I keep trying to start with Jett. He says he wants to start a band but neither of us really have time to start a band from scratch. We are putting it off but hopefully we can start it eventually.
All right peace out guys,
Dylan
